Program Facilitator
This is part-time position, Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm. Applicant will be working with children from K-8th grade assisting with homework and facilitating programs. Position is opened until filled.

Become a Volunteer

From individuals to community organizations, we welcome all volunteers to join us! Through the Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Centers volunteer program you will gain experience working on projects and build teamwork skills. You will have the opportunity to bring your expertise and passion to share with our children and be a key factor in facilitating programs.

Who can volunteer?
Adults and teens are able to volunteer with us. Simply  ll out an application on After-School HQ to get started. Adults are required to pass a background check in order to be eligible to volunteer at the Centers.

What kind of volunteering opportunities do you have?
We are always looking for volunteers for our After-School Program and Summer Blast Camp. We also have annual special events such as our Christmas Recital where we will need additional volunteers. To keep up to date on all our volunteer opportunities and sign-up as a volunteer, check our After-School HQ page.

Can a group of people volunteer?
Yes! You can volunteer as a group during any of our volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in doing a more specialized, one time event check out our Become a Partner page for more information.

What if I want to do a special event?
We always welcome community organizations and small business to collaborate with us to make a special moment for our children. To set this up contact us directly or learn more on our Become a Partner page.

Program Partners

Lubbock Arts Alliance
Art and Music Program: For more than a decade, Lubbock Arts Alliance have provided our children with high-quality music and art classes that focus on developing children’ s exploration, collaboration and appreciation of the arts in a safe environment.

Texas Tech University College Of Visual And Performing Arts
Piano Lab Program: In collaboration with TTU College of Visual and Performing Arts, we introduce a brand new piano program taught by graduate students. This new type of program is focused on musical education and the development of technical skills.

Stem And Leaf Corps
S.T.E.M. Club Program: Powered by Texas Tech University’ s S.T.E.M. and Leaf student organization, they provide weekly S.T.E.M. experiments for our children to help them grow a natural curiosity for the world around them.

Voices Of Hope
Close to Home: A primary prevention program, Kenneth Castillo from Voices of Hope comes out every week to talk with our teens about community building, healthy relationships and the joy of growing healthy fruits and veggies.

Patterson Public Library
Summer Reading Program: During our Summer Blast Camps, our campers go to the Patterson Public Library to check out books, take part in weekly activities and explore the world of books inside the Centers.

Child Evangelical Fellowship
Good News Club Program: Good News Club is a national program that aims to provide children all over the knowledge of the Lord. Each week the teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials.

Lubbock Area United Way
Partner Agency: United Way is our largest source of funding, providing 60% of our operations funds. United Way also serves the Centers in other various ways, such as Day of Caring and other fundraising opportunities. Thank you United Way!

Friday Dinner Provider: Beginning in the fall of 2023, ATMOS Energy generously donated funds for our Friday ‘snacks’ to turn into Friday meals. Each Friday, we are able to provide our children with a tasty and filling meal so they never start the weekend hungry.

Field Trip Experience: Thanks to our partners at KCBD, our children have had the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of a newsroom.

City Of Lubbock Police Department
Field Trip Experience: During our Summer Blast Camp, the campers got to take an inside look at how our local police station operates. From 911 dispatchers to K-9 unites, LPD o ered a special learning experience for our campers.

City Of Lubbock Fire & Rescue
Guest Speaker Experience: We are very lucky to be in contact with so many amazing people, like the firefighters who come out during our Summer Blast Camp to showcase their fire truck and equipment, while also helping our campers learn the importance of fire safety.
